The .net character
The .net loves the moment a dropped name is registered again, which is why it fronts our caught domains list.
About the .net extension
Launched in 1985 for network providers and run by Verisign. Today it is used by all kinds of sites, often as the next choice when the .com is taken.

Tips for buying an expired .net domain
Look for .net names whose .com is held by a different, unrelated owner, and avoid ones where a well-known brand owns the .com: visitors and email will go astray.
Whatever the extension, check every name before you buy it: its history, backlinks and spam signals. Our domain history checklist covers each step.
Expired .net domains on FreedDomains
Expiring .net names are being added from ICANN zone files: names that leave the .net zone show up on the expired domains list with an estimated drop date. Until then, check any .net name with the domain checker.
