Look up any domain's registration details straight from its registry: registrar, created and expiry dates, status codes and, if it is expiring, when it is likely to be released.
Whois and RDAP
Whois was the old way to look up who holds a domain. Registries now publish the same data through RDAP, a modern service that returns structured results, and that is what this tool uses. Since privacy rules came in, most registries hide the owner's personal details; you will still see the registrar, the dates and the status, which are what matter when you want to buy an expiring name.
What the status codes mean
- clientTransferProhibited / serverTransferProhibited: a lock against transfers. Normal for most names.
- autoRenewPeriod: recently renewed automatically; the registrar may still let it go.
- redemptionPeriod: deleted by the registrar; only the old owner can restore it.
- pendingDelete: it will be released within days. Place a backorder.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a WHOIS lookup?
It uses RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS that registries now run. It shows the same registration facts (registrar, created, expiry and status codes) in a cleaner, standard format.
Why are the owner's details hidden?
Most registries and registrars redact personal contact details for privacy. Registrar, dates and status are still public.
