The .xyz character
The .xyz is laid-back about everything except a good short name.
About the .xyz extension

Tips for buying an expired .xyz domain
Many .xyz names were registered cheaply in bulk and dropped later, so the history check matters more than usual.
Whatever the extension, check every name before you buy it: its history, backlinks and spam signals. Our domain history checklist covers each step.
Expired .xyz domains on FreedDomains
We do not list expiring .xyz names yet, because its registry does not publish a drop list we can use. You can still check any .xyz name's status, registrar and history with the domain checker.
